ஐந்தாம் தூதன் தன் கலசத்திலுள்ளதை மிருகத்தினுடைய சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் ஊற்றினான்; அப்பொழுது அதின் ராஜ்யம் இருளடைந்தது; அவர்கள் வருத்தத்தினாலே தங்கள் நாவுகளைக் கடித்துக்கொண்டு,

ஐந்தாவது தேவதூதன் தன் கிண்ணத்தில் இருந்தவற்றை மிருகத்தின் சிம்மாசனத்தின்மீது எறிந்தான். அதனால் மிருகத்தின் இராஜ்யம் இருண்டுபோனது. மக்கள் வேதனையால் தங்கள் நாவுகளைக் கடித்துக்கொண்டனர்.

ஐந்தாம் வானதூதர் தம் கிண்ணத்தில் இருந்ததை விலங்கு வீற்றிருந்த அரியணைமீது ஊற்றினார். உடனே அதன் அரசை இருள் கவ்விக்கொண்டது. துன்பம் தாங்க முடியாதவர்களாய் மனிதர் தங்கள் நாவைக் கடித்துக் கொண்டனர்.
