அவன் போய்ச் சேர்ந்து, தேவனுடைய கிருபையைக் கண்டபோது, சந்தோஷப்பட்டு, கர்த்தரிடத்தில் மனநிர்ணயமாய் நிலைத்திருக்கும்படி எல்லாருக்கும் புத்திசொன்னான்.

நம்முடைய தேவனும் இரட்சகருமாயிருக்கிற இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய நீதியால் எங்களைப்போல அருமையான விசுவாசத்தைப் பெற்றவர்களுக்கு, இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் ஊழியக்காரனும் அப்போஸ்தலனுமாகிய சீமோன் பேதுரு எழுதுகிறதாவது:

சகோதரர் வந்து நீ சத்தியத்திலே நடந்துகொள்ளுகிறாய் என்று உன்னுடைய உண்மையைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சி கொடுத்தபோது மிகவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டேன்.

நான் ஸ்பானியா தேசத்திற்குப் பிரயாணம்பண்ணுகையில் உங்களிடத்தில் வந்து, உங்களைக் கண்டுகொள்ளவும், உங்களிடத்தில் சற்றுத் திருப்தியடைந்தபின்பு, அவ்விடத்திற்கு உங்களால் வழிவிட்டனுப்பப்படவும், எனக்குச் சமயங் கிடைக்குமென்று நம்பியிருக்கிறேன்.

நான் துக்கத்துடனே உங்களிடத்தில் மறுபடியும் வராதபடிக்கு எனக்குள்ளே தீர்மானித்துக்கொண்டேன்.

மிகுந்த தைரியத்தோடே உங்களுடன் பேசுகிறேன்; உங்களைக்குறித்து மிகவும் மேன்மைபாராட்டுகிறேன், ஆறுதலால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறேன், எங்களுக்கு உண்டான சகல உபத்திரவத்திலேயும் பரிபூரண சந்தோஷமாயிருக்கிறேன்.

இதினிமித்தம் நீங்கள் ஆறுதலடைந்ததினாலே நாங்களும் ஆறுதலடைந்தோம்; விசேஷமாகத் தீத்துவினுடைய ஆவி உங்கள் அனைவராலும் ஆறுதலடைந்ததினாலே, அவனுக்கு உண்டான சந்தோஷத்தினால் அதிக சந்தோஷப்பட்டோம்.

ஒரே கர்த்தரும், ஒரே விசுவாசமும், ஒரே ஞானஸ்நானமும்,

சகோதரரே, நாங்கள் இருதயத்தின்படி உங்களோடிருந்து, சரீரத்தின்படி கொஞ்சக்காலம் உங்களைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்திருந்தபடியினாலே, உங்கள் முகத்தைப்பார்க்கவேண்டுமென்று மிகுந்த ஆசையோடே அதிகமாய்ப் பிரயத்தனம்பண்ணினோம்.

ஏற்றகாலங்களிலே நம்முடைய இரட்சகராகிய தேவனுடைய கட்டளையின்படி எனக்கு ஒப்பவிக்கப்பட்ட பிரசங்கத்தினாலே தமது வார்த்தையை வெளிப்படுத்தினார்.

பிதாவினால் நாம் பெற்ற கற்பனையின்படியே உம்முடைய பிள்ளைகளில் சிலர் சத்தியத்திலே நடக்கிறதை நான் கண்டு; மிகவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டேன்.

பிரியமானவர்களே, பொதுவான இரட்சிப்பைக்குறித்து உங்களுக்கு எழுதும்படி நான் மிகவும் கருத்துள்ளவனாயிருக்கையில், பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கு ஒருவிசை ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட்ட விசுவாசத்திற்காக நீங்கள் தைரியமாய்ப் போராடவேண்டுமென்று உங்களுக்கு எழுதி உணர்த்துவது எனக்கு அவசியமாய்க் கண்டது.
