அவர்களுடைய கண்கள் காணாதபடி அந்தகாரப்படக்கடவது; அவர்கள் இடுப்புகளை எப்போதும் தள்ளாடப்பண்ணும்.

கர்த்தர் உன்னைப் பூமியின் ஒரு முனைதுவக்கி பூமியின் மறுமுனைமட்டும் இருக்கிற எல்லா ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளும் சிதற அடிப்பார்; அங்கே நீயும் உன் பிதாக்களும் அறியாத மரமும் கல்லுமான அந்நிய தேவர்களைச் சேவிப்பாய்.

உன்னை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் கடந்துபோகும்படிக்குக் குனியென்று சொல்லி, கடந்துபோகிறவர்களுக்கு நீ உன் முதுகைத் தரையும் வீதியுமாக்கும்படி, உன்னைச் சஞ்சலப்படுத்தினவர்களின் கையில் அதைக் கொடுப்பேன் என்றார்.

உங்களை நான் பட்டயத்துக்கு எண்ணிக்கொடுப்பேன்; நீங்கள் அனைவரும் கொலைசெய்யப்படக் குனிவீர்கள்; நான் கூப்பிட்டும் நீங்கள் மறுஉத்தரவு கொடுக்கவில்லை; நான் பேசியும் நீங்கள் கேட்கவில்லை; என் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்து, எனக்குப் பிரியமல்லாததைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டீர்கள்.

மந்தையைக் கைவிடுகிற அபத்தமான மேய்ப்பனுக்கு ஐயோ! பட்டயம் அவன் புயத்தின்மேலும் அவன் வலதுகண்ணின்மேலும் வரும்; அவன் புயமுழுதும் சூம்பிப்போம்; அவன் வலதுகண் முற்றிலும் இருள் அடையும் என்றார்.

அவர்கள் தேவனை அறிந்தும், அவரைத் தேவனென்று மகிமைப்படுத்தாமலும், ஸ்தோத்திரியாமலுமிருந்து, தங்கள் சிந்தனைகளினாலே வீணரானார்கள், உணர்வில்லாத அவர்களுடைய இருதயம் இருளடைந்தது.

கனநித்திரையின் ஆவியையும், காணாதிருக்கிற கண்களையும், கேளாதிருக்கிற காதுகளையும், தேவன் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியாயிற்று.

அவர்கள் புத்தியில் அந்தகாரப்பட்டு, தங்கள் இருதய கடினத்தினால் தங்களில் இருக்கும் அறியாமையினாலே தேவனுடைய ஜீவனுக்கு அந்நியராயிருந்து;

பாவஞ்செய்த தூதர்களை தேவன் தப்பவிடாமல், அந்தகாரச் சங்கிலிகளினாலே கட்டி நரகத்திலே தள்ளி நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டவர்களாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து;

இவர்கள் தண்ணீரில்லாத கிணறுகளும், சுழல்காற்றினால் அடியுண்டோடுகிற மேகங்களுமாயிருக்கிறார்கள்; என்றென்றைக்குமுள்ள காரிருளே இவர்களுக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

தங்களுடைய ஆதிமேன்மையைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளாமல், தங்களுக்குரிய வாசஸ்தலத்தை விட்டுவிட்ட தூதர்களையும், மகா நாளின் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கென்று நித்திய சங்கிலிகளினாலே கட்டி, அந்தகாரத்தில் அடைத்து வைத்திருக்கிறார்.

தங்கள் அவமானங்களை நுரைதள்ளுகிற அமளியான கடலலைகளும், மார்க்கந்தப்பி அலைகிற நட்சத்திரங்களுமாயிருக்கிறார்கள்; இவர்களுக்காக என்றென்றைக்கும் காரிருளே வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
