ஒரு பொருளும் தன்னிலே தீட்டுள்ளதல்லவென்று கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவுக்குள் அறிந்து நிச்சயித்திருக்கிறேன்; ஒருபொருளைத் தீட்டுள்ளதென்று எண்ணிக்கொள்ளுகிறவனெவனோ அவனுக்கு அது தீட்டுள்ளதாயிருக்கும்.

நடமாடுகிற ஜீவஜந்துக்கள் யாவும், உங்களுக்கு ஆகாரமாய் இருப்பதாக; பசும் பூண்டுகளை உங்களுக்குத் தந்ததுபோல, அவைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் உங்களுக்குத் தந்தேன்.

தேவன் படைத்ததெல்லாம் நல்லதாயிருக்கிறது; ஸ்தோத்திரத்தோடே ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படுமாகில் ஒன்றும் தள்ளப்படத்தக்கதல்ல.

பின்னும் தேவன்: இதோ, பூமியின்மேல் எங்கும் விதைதரும் சகலவிதப் பூண்டுகளையும், விதைதரும் கனிமரங்களாகிய சகலவித விருட்சங்களையும் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தேன், அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு ஆகாரமாயிருக்கக்கடவது;

பகையோடிருக்கும் கொழுத்த எருதின் கறியைப்பார்க்கிலும், சிநேகத்தோடிருக்கும் இலைக்கறியே நல்லது.

பத்துநாள்வரைக்கும் உமது அடியாரைச் சோதித்துப்பாரும்; எங்களுக்குப் புசிக்க பருப்பு முதலான மரக்கறிகளையும், குடிக்கத் தண்ணீரையும் கொடுத்து,

ஆகையால் மேல்ஷார் அவர்கள் புசிக்கக் கட்டளையான போஜனத்தையும், அவர்கள் குடிக்கக் கட்டளையான திராட்சரசத்தையும் நீக்கிவைத்து, அவர்களுக்குப் பருப்பு முதலானவைகளைக் கொடுத்தான்.

உனக்கு விசுவாசமிருந்தால் அது தேவனுக்குமுன்பாக உன்மட்டும் இருக்கட்டும். நல்லதென நிச்சயித்த காரியத்தில் தன்னைக் குற்றவாளியாக்காதவன் பாக்கியவான்.

கடையிலே விற்கப்படுகிற எதையும் வாங்கிப் புசியுங்கள்; மனச்சாட்சியினிமித்தம் நீங்கள் ஒன்றையும் விசாரிக்கவேண்டியதில்லை.

எப்படியெனில், யாக்கோபினிடத்திலிருந்து சிலர் வருகிறதற்குமுன் அவன் புறஜாதியாருடனே சாப்பிட்டான்; அவர்கள் வந்தபோதோ, விருத்தசேதனமுள்ளவர்களுக்குப் பயந்து, விலகிப் பிரிந்தான்.

சுத்தமுள்ளவர்களுக்குச் சகலமும் சுத்தமாயிருக்கும்; அசுத்தமுள்ளவர்களுக்கும் அவிசுவாசமுள்ளவர்களுக்கும் ஒன்றும் சுத்தமாயிராது; அவர்களுடைய புத்தியும் மனச்சாட்சியும் அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

இவைகள் சீர்திருந்தல் உண்டாகும் காலம்வரைக்கும் நடந்தேறும்படி கட்டளையிடப்பட்ட போஜனபானங்களும், பலவித ஸ்நானங்களும், சரீரத்திற்கேற்ற சடங்குகளுமேயல்லாமல் வேறல்ல.

பலவிதமான அந்நிய போதனைகளால் அலைப்புண்டு திரியாதிருங்கள். போஜனபதார்த்தங்களினாலல்ல, கிருபையினாலே இருதயம் ஸ்திரப்படுகிறது நல்லது; போஜனபதார்த்தங்களில் முயற்சிசெய்கிறவர்கள் பலனடையவில்லையே.
