தன் மாம்சத்திற்கென்று விதைக்கிறவன் மாம்சத்தினால் அழிவை அறுப்பான்; ஆவிக்கென்று விதைக்கிறவன் ஆவியினாலே நித்தியஜீவனை அறுப்பான்.

மாம்சத்தின்படி பிழைத்தால் சாவீர்கள்; ஆவியினாலே சரீரத்தின் செய்கைகளை அழித்தால் பிழைப்பீர்கள்.

இப்பொழுது உங்களுக்கு வெட்கமாகத் தோன்றுகிற காரியங்களினாலே அக்காலத்தில் உங்களுக்கு என்ன பலன் கிடைத்தது? அவைகளின் முடிவு மரணமே.

துர்இச்சைகளுக்கு இடமாக உடலைப் பேணாமலிருந்து, கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவைத் தரித்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

நாம் தேவனுக்குச் சத்துருக்களாயிருக்கையில், அவருடைய குமாரனின் மரணத்தினாலே அவருடனே ஒப்புரவாக்கப்பட்டோமானால், ஒப்புரவாக்கப்பட்டபின் நாம் அவருடைய ஜீவனாலே இரட்சிக்கப்படுவது அதிக நிச்சயமாமே.

எப்படியென்றால், மாம்சசிந்தை தேவனுக்கு விரோதமான பகை; அது தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமலும், கீழ்ப்படியக்கூடாமலும் இருக்கிறது.

சமாதானத்தை உங்களுக்கு வைத்துப்போகிறேன், என்னுடைய சமாதானத்தையே உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கிறேன்; உலகம் கொடுக்கிறபிரகாரம் நான் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கிறதில்லை. உங்கள் இருதயம் கலங்காமலும் பயப்படாமலுமிருப்பதாக.

நாம் மாம்சத்திற்கு உட்பட்டிருந்த காலத்தில் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினாலே தோன்றிய பாவ இச்சைகள் மரணத்திற்கு ஏதுவான கனிகளைக் கொடுக்கத்தக்கதாக நம்முடைய அவயவங்களிலே பெலன்செய்தது.

பாவமானது கற்பனையினாலே சமயம்பெற்று, என்னை வஞ்சித்து, அதினாலே என்னைக் கொன்றது.

ஆவியின் கனியோ, அன்பு, சந்தோஷம், சமாதானம், நீடியபொறுமை, தயவு, நற்குணம், விசுவாசம்,

அவனவன் தன்தன் சுய இச்சையினாலே இழுக்கப்பட்டு, சிக்குண்டு, சோதிக்கப்படுகிறான்.

அதற்கு இயேசு: நானே வழியும் சத்தியமும் ஜீவனுமாயிருக்கிறேன்; என்னாலேயல்லாமல் ஒருவனும் பிதாவினிடத்தில் வரான்.

பிதாவே, உலகம் உண்டாகிறதற்கு முன்னே உம்மிடத்தில் எனக்கு உண்டாயிருந்த மகிமையினாலே இப்பொழுது நீர் என்னை உம்மிடத்திலே மகிமைப்படுத்தும்.

இவ்விதமாக, நாம் விசுவாசத்தினாலே நீதிமான்களாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறபடியால், நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துமூலமாய் தேவனிடத்தில் சமாதானம் பெற்றிருக்கிறோம்.

தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யம் புசிப்பும் குடிப்புமல்ல, அது நீதியும் சமாதானமும் பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலுண்டாகும் சந்தோஷமுமாயிருக்கிறது.
