நான் நிறைவுள்ளவளாய்ப் போனேன்; கர்த்தர் என்னை வெறுமையாய்த் திரும்பிவரப்பண்ணினார்; கர்த்தர் என்னைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தி, சர்வவல்லவர் என்னைக் கிலேசப்படுத்தியிருக்கையில், நீங்கள் என்னை நகோமி என்பானேன் என்றாள்.

நான் நிறைவுள்ளவளாகப் போனேன்; கர்த்தர் என்னை வெறுமையாகத் திரும்பிவரச்செய்தார்; கர்த்தர் என்னைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தி, சர்வவல்லவர் என்னை வருத்தப்படுத்தியிருக்கும்போது, நீங்கள் என்னை நகோமி என்று சொல்வது ஏன் என்றாள்.

நான் இங்கிருந்து போகும்போது எனக்கு விருப்பமான அனைத்தையும் பெற்றிருந்தேன். ஆனால் இப்போது நான் வெறுமையானவளாகும்படி கர்த்தர் செய்துவிட்டார். என்னைத் துக்கமுள்ளவளாகும்படி கர்த்தர் செய்தபிறகு, ஏன் என்னை நகோமி (மகிழ்ச்சி) என்று அழைக்கிறீர்கள்? சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள தேவன் எனக்கு மிகுந்த துன்பத்தைக் கொடுத்துவிட்டார்” என்றாள்.
