அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் தன் மறுமொழியைச் சேனைகளின் கர்த்தாவே, இந்த எழுபது வருஷமாய் நீர் கோபங்கொண்டிருக்கிற எருசலேமின்மேலும் யூதா பட்டணங்களின்மேலும் எந்தமட்டும் இரங்காதிருப்பீர் என்று சொல்ல,

பின்னர் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன், “கர்த்தாவே, நீர் இன்னும் எவ்வளவு காலத்துக்கு எருசலேமையும் யூதாவின் நகரங்களையும் ஆறுதல்படுத்தாமலிருப்பீர்? எழுபது ஆண்டுகளாக இந்நகரங்களின் மேல் நீர் உமது கோபத்தைக் காட்டினீர்” என்றான்.

ஆண்டவரின் தூதர், ‘படைகளின் ஆண்டவரே, இன்னும் எத்துணைக் காலத்திற்கு எருசலேமின் மேலும் யூதாவின் நகர்கள் மேலும், கருணை காட்டாதிருப்பீர்? இந்த எழுபது ஆண்டுகளாய் உமது சினத்தைக் காட்டினீரே’ என்று பதில் அளித்தார்.
