நாலாம் மாதத்தின் உபவாசமும், ஐந்தாம் மாதத்தின் உபாவாசமும், ஏழாம் மாதத்தின் உபவாசமும் பத்தாம் மாதத்தின் உபவாசமும், யூதா வம்சத்தாருக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியாகவும் சந்தோஷமாகவும் நல்ல பண்டிகைகளாகவும் மாறிப்போகும்; ஆகையால் சத்தியத்தையும் சமாதானத்தையும் சிநேகியுங்கள் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள கர்த்தர் கூறுகிறார், “உங்களுக்குத் துக்கம் கொள்ளவும், உபவாசம் இருக்கவும், நாலாவது மாதத்திலும், ஐந்தாவது மாதத்திலும், ஏழவாவது மாதத்திலும், பத்தாவது மாதத்திலும் சிறப்பான நாட்கள் இருக்கும். அந்தத் துக்கத்துக்குரிய நாட்களை மகிழ்ச்சிக்குரிய நாட்களாக மாற்றவேண்டும். அவை நல்ல மகிழ்ச்சிகரமான நாட்களாக இருக்கும். நீங்கள் உண்மையையும் சமாதானத்தையும் நேசிக்க வேண்டும்.”

படைகளின் ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே: நான்காம் மாதத்தின் நோன்பும், ஐந்தாம் மாதத்தின் நோன்பும், ஏழாம் மாதத்தின் நோன்பும், பத்தாம் மாதத்தின் நோன்பும் யூதா குடும்பத்தார்க்கு மகிழ்ச்சியும் களிப்பும் நிறைந்த மாபெரும் திருவிழா நாள்களாக மாறிவிடும். ஆதலால் வாய்மையையும் நல்லுறவையும் நாடுங்கள்.⒫
